Dear Cheese Lovers,
The American Cheesemaker Awards honors some of the country’s top artisan cheeses. Cheesemakers, winemakers and gourmet food purveyors connect with other specialty food professionals and Southern California culinary enthusiasts during a four-day, cheese-inspired celebration, featuring tastings, cooking demonstrations, and an awards ceremony.
About the 2007 Awards:
On November 15 -18, 2007, over forty cheesemakers, dozens of renowned chefs and culinary experts, industry leaders, and cheese lovers gathered at the Fairmont Newport Beach for the only event of its kind in Southern California.
The Events:
| • | Twenty
judges from across the country tasted and rated over 75 artisan cheeses.
Using a blind tasting process, they selected winners in each of 11
categories. |
| • | At
the Industry Preview Tasting, industry leaders discussed the state
of the cheese industry. |
| • | Guests
of the American Cheesemaker Awards Dinner were treated to a 4 course
cheese-inspired meal, live music, and dancing as they learned the
winners of the American Cheesemaker Awards. |
| • | At
the Saturday & Sunday Tasting, cheese lovers met cheesemakers,
tasted specialty foods like artisan breads & chocolate, and enjoyed
complimentary cheese inspired cooking classes and wine pairings. The
weekend was a gourmet delight for all who attended. |
